Let’s have a yarn giveaway this week! It’s a lovely, huge skein of cashmere/angora/lambswool hand painted by Schaefer Yarns. What HeartStrings pattern would you make if you won this yarn? Hint: This yarn is CYCA standard weight 3. You can see HeartStrings patterns for this weight here at the Patterns by Yarn Weight page.

It’s not available yet, but the Navaho Rug Beaded Bag sounds tempting!
The idea of the Navaho Rug Beaded Bag went on the back burner. I still hope to finish that design and instructions one of these days. Thanks for asking about it!
Hello Jackie, the luxury yarn is beautiful
if I were lucky enough to win …I would make the cowl dickey…
I suppose with there being so much yardage, would make several as gifts
thank you, Donna DeChellis
I would use the handpainted Schaefer yarn to crochet one side of Pineapples and Lace Tunic pattern which was a Web Bonus from my subscription of Crochet magazine. Extending it into a shawl with medium length tassels to show the diverse and gorgeous color of the yarn.
I would make the spiral nebula shawl…just beautiful!!
I’d make a lovely shawl to go with a peasant skirt I’m making.
I think I might try the Spiral Nebula shawl. Yes, it’s for slightly heavier weight yarn so it would look a little lacier than the pattern design but I think it would show off the colors nicely.
Spiral Nebula has instructions for knitting in any weight! So no problem using this yarn (and any other yarn you might decide you’d like to make a Spiral Nebula). There are more examples on Ravelry here of projects and yarns people have used:

I would use the handpainted Schaefer yarn to knit the Peaks and Valleys Scarf.
